We partner with Fiduciary Wise, who offers fiduciary services on retirement plans. Also, we work with Fiduciary Wise on the consulting and administration of Multiple Employer Plans (MEP’s) and Pooled Employer Plans (PEP’s) that they sponsor.

Bill formed Gateway Pension Services, Ltd. in 1986 and has successfully managed the company
to be recognized as one of the most professional third party pension plan administration firms in
the country. Bill holds the Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA), Qualified 401(k) Consultant
and Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designations with the American Society of Pension
Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA). A significant portion of his time is currently focused on
ERISA fiduciary issues and consulting with clients on plan design and administration issues.
Bill spends his leisure time with Sandy, his wife of over 40 years, traveling and enjoying their 5
children and 7 grandchildren. Bill is an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

John Conaty is a retirement plan consultant and administrator who has been with Gateway since 2004. He began his professional career in 1986. He is the consultant and administrator on 401(k)/Profit Sharing and defined benefit plans from one to 500 participants, assisting clients with
anything from routine questions to complex legal issues. He also has extensive involvement in the design of new high quality, cost effective defined contribution and defined benefit plans to best meet our client’s objectives. He enjoys disseminating knowledge as a mentor to colleagues and a resource to business associates. John is an Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent with the Internal Revenue Service, has the Certified Pension Consultant, Qualified Plan Financial Consultant, Qualified Plan Administrator and Qualified 401(k) Plan Administrator designations with the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, and the Accredited Pension Administrator and Accredited Pension Representative designations from the National Institute of Pension Administrators.
John is originally from California, and his hobbies include listening to music, bowling, and traveling.

Shelly Kluemke began her professional career in 1997. She started in the industry working on defined contribution plans. Since joining Gateway in 2000, she has been involved in administration of union and non-union plans, including 401(k), profit sharing, money purchase, 403(b), ESOP and other retirement plans. She has worked on all aspects of administration including participant distributions/loans, balancing trust accounting, filing the required annual
government forms and preparation of plan documents and amendments. She has obtained the Qualified Pension Administrator, Qualified 401(k) Consultant and Qualified 401(k) Administrator
designations from ASPPA. She also has the Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent designation, which allows her to represent clients in front of the IRS on retirement plan issues.
When not at work, Shelly enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Michael Puettmann began working in the pension industry in 1995 and joined the Gateway staff in 2011. He was first introduced to the retirement plan industry through working with defined benefit plans, specifically preparing participant distribution forms and plan government filings for plan terminations. While gaining experience on defined benefit plans, he started studying for and taking ASPPA examinations to gain more knowledge with the pension industry. After working with defined benefit plans for several years, he started working on 401(k) plans. He gained more experience on 401(k) plans by working on participant distributions/loans, balancing trust accounting, and filing the required annual government forms. He continued taking ASPPA examinations and earned his Qualified 401(k) Administrator designation. In his spare time, Michael enjoys taking in a St. Louis Cardinal or Blues game.

Sandy joined the Gateway staff in 1986. She is in charge of accounts receivable, and assists with other administrative duties. Sandy is married to Bill Dettmers, Gateway’s President, and enjoys traveling and spending time
with her family.
